Sew-It

with Di Kendall

Working together with Janome - Red Block

This is in development - However I hope to start dressmaking workshops in the autumn at a venue in central Derbyshire between Belper and Matlock.

Welcome to Sew-It with Di Kendall

I'm based in Heage in mid Derbyshire (DE56) and I've been sewing and dressmaking for over 50 years. I have succesfully completed The Saville Row Coat to develop my hand tailoring skills. I'm a teacher, bespoke garment maker and pattern maker who is keen to help others experience the joy of working with fabric to make something unique.

Teaching

I can teach you to make the most of your sewing machine, to

make clothes that fit you - dressmaking lessons beginners to tailoring.

I will teach sewing in your own home where I can bring a sewing machine to you,

I can come along to a community group to teach dressmaking.

If you own a sewing school and would like me to teach workshops for you I will work freelance - bra making, menswear. I will tailor courses to your requirements

Dressmaking/Tailoring

If you want an outfit that you can guarentee no one else will have I will make it for you. I'm happy to make made to measure clothes for men and women, including traditional tailored jackets, waistcoats, trousers and hand made shirts.

The Derby Area Sewing Group

Join us on Facebook, we have nearly 100 online members or come along to our monthly get together.

Last Tuesday of the month, 7.00-9.00 at Strutts Community Centre in Belper.

Annual fee £10 and £3 per session.

Bring a project, enjoy a sewing related chat and sharing advice. As numbers increase I hope our members might be prepared to run a small session on a topic that interests them. More paid members means we can run give aways.

We're negotiating discounts at sewing related retailors in the area. If you can offer our paying members a discount please email me.

I also hope to offer discounts to my proposed workshops to paid members.
