View this post on Instagram I’m a day late for #jumpintojune however today’s the first outing for my #siroccojumpsuit from @deer_and_doe_patterns I’m determined to work through my fabrics, this was another ‘remnant’ albeit a 2m one which cost much less than buying the pattern and having it printed. I’d set it aside for a dress, but decided it’d get much more wear as a jumpsuit. It also has the high amount of stretch needed for the Sirocco. The Sirocco is an easy make. As I’m only 5’3” I expect to have to shorten the body above the waist, crotch depth and leg length. Surprisingly I didn’t shorten the bodice and it still only just meets my waist. The crotch depth was over 2”longer than mine, which is much more than I’d usually have to reduce. I also decided to make long sleeves as my fabric is remarkably cosy thinking towards autumn. Swipe across to see the unusual knitted waffle effect. I’m not sure if this is Liverpool cloth, it’s certainly the black thread which has the Lycra that pulls in the pink single jersey and also gives it the stretch. #janomemakes #sewover50 #sewcialists #sewcialist #dressmakingismysuperpower #dressmaking #dressmaker #dressmakersofinstagram #imakemyownclothes #imakeclothes A post shared by Sew-It WithDi (@sewitwithdi) on Jul 1, 2020 at 6:33am PDT
